The biblical account of David vanquishing Goliath is pure Hollywood. It’s got an underdog, a villain, triumph over evil, even nudity.
With a universal appeal that defies time, place and ethnicity, its little wonder this basic premise underpins so many books and films.
Intriguingly there is also an parallel between this and recent events occurring in the same region; an underdog nation that fought six wars against superior numbers and prevailed, with any minor wounds bandaged by the unconditional support of a compliant US government and corporate sector.
