This is where they all end up. The Tsukiji Central Fish Market in Tokyo handles over 2000 metric tonnes of seafood per day: more than 700,000 metric tonnes every year. A place both revered and reviled, it is a surprisingly drab environment, populated by a phalanx of workers who navigate their way amongst the catch in a variety of craft.
