This work brings together two forms of illusion: one of vision and one of value. A surface that appears to move meets an object that appears to possess material wealth. Both are constructions, dependent upon perception, context, and belief.

Throughout the series, ordinary objects are transformed through acts of designation, with established artworks interrupted by unexpected, yet artistically integrated, interventions.

Here, the question is not whether the object is genuinely valuable, but why the appearance of value holds such authority. The title leaves open who, or what, the deception belongs to; the object, the market, the viewer, and the very systems used to measure worth, all become subjects of suspicion.
